so my friend watched Freaks and Geeks and has since fallen in love with the American Beauty album and has requested a mix from me. With all of the above in mind so far I have the following:

8-6-71 Truckin
Uncle Johns Band (studio version)
Ripple (from Reckoning)

ive just started doing this, but I really want to make this a good, fluid and easily listenable mix. so give me some suggestions!

Ah, does this mean you want to represent the songs off that album only? Cool.

But, that said, I would add a semi-electric NSBoogie from 70 (ie, 6-7 or 9-19). You could also get a great CBlues from those dates, though that would be crossing over to WMDead, which I always think is good in showing a "best of 70" theme sense.

You can get a nice Attics from this time period; the July shows of 70 (ie, 7-16 or 7-30--I can never recall which).

Sorry, other than knowing they exist, I have forgotten which shows have which songs for this period. But, scan the lists for the following months, focusing on the following: 6-7, 7-16, 7-30, 9-19. You can find decent CMan versions, FOTD, Attics, Brokedown (hey--could go back to 8-6-71 for that one?), and the WMDead tunes. Just watch out for the early SugMags...take a latter one for that tune.

Is honesty the best policy when it comes to chicks and Tito?

How much trouble would you be in with "were you looking at HER?" or "is that really 8 inches? Oh, I see, your ruler looks different" if you were completely honest? Or the worst of the worse: "of course they're supposed to sag" and "how do you like my new spandex workout offit?"

i think there are pics online somewhere of SDH and GoP doing aerobics in their new spandex workout gear. However, I do believe you have to be over 18, and one-step-away-from-a-helmet, in order to enter the site.

im in the process of doin the same thing. except i decided to throw in some JGB and make it a 3 disc set like a any normal show. The first set which is all i have right now is:

Dire Wolf - Dicks Picks 13
Desolation Row - 95-7-02 (i know this was a horrible experience but the recording just sounds amazing)
Loser- Dead Set
My Sisters and Brothers - JGB(self titled)
Music Never Stopped-Phil Zone
My Dog Joke-1970-6-7
Swing Low Sweet Chariot-1970-6-7
Duprees Diamond Blues-2-11-69
Just a Little Light-Dozin at the knick
Cassidy-Reckoning
Bird Song-Without a Net
Playin-1989-7-4

Capers, I asked this very question about 2-3 weeks ago. I made a DVD (data) of about 20 concerts. So it can't be played in a CD player but can easily be imported into iTunes. Check out the thread if you wanted some ideas.

thats great actually cause it reminded me of the 10/31/91 dark star with the kesey rap, which is perfect because my friend graduated with a poetry major
